How to: Find a Free Couch to Crash on While Touring
Are you looking to plan a tour and really strapped for cash? One great way to save money on tour is by finding unique and inexpensive sleeping arrangements for whenever you have to spend the night away from home, or get the heck out of the cramped van you’ve been curling up in.
I found two very cool websites online that help touring bands and musicians find friendly couches to crash on. Many of these generous couch lenders don’t ask for much in return (general respect, friendly attitude, cleaning up after yourself, etc) for lending their couches out to complete strangers.
Better Than The Van
I’ve known about these guys for some time, and they are all about connecting bands with their fans, by the way of the couch. On BTTV, bands can search for free couches around the U.S.A, and couch lenders can search for bands passing through their town. It is a really cool way meet new people, discover new music, and help make the lives of touring bands a bit easier.
