Featured Album this Week (8/2/10): “Changing Clocks EP”

Early last week, a South African, Berklee transfer student named Matt Rod (@MattRodMusic) reached out to me via e-mail, and introduced me to his really slick group, “Changing Clocks.” They are putting out an EP in the next few weeks, and you’ll be able to listen to the entire thing here first! Powerful vocals and even more powerful instrumentals make for some seriously awesome tunes, and I was actually shocked at how great the recordings sound!
The EP starts out with a really happy song boasting awesome vocal harmonies and extremely funky/jazzy/awesome musicianship supporting them. My favorite parts of the EP are when the guitar player takes a second here and there for a quick solo. Being a guitar player, I might be biased, but I just thought that was so cool.
As of late, I’m becoming a huge fan of the coed, dual lead singer bands. I have the feeling that more bands with this kind of lineup are going to blow up, and become the next big thing to replace the 00′s emo music craze.
If you enjoyed the track, “Chance,” definitely don’t hesitate to go here and download the song for free! You can get the download one of three ways – joining the mailing list, sharing the song on Twitter, or connecting with Changing Clocks on Facebook. Do it up!
