Featured Album this Week (5/24/10): “Dirty South Dance 2″ by A-Trak

A-trak - Dirty South Dance 2

I’m not really that big into techno and electronica music, but this gem fell into my lap the other day, and I was so impressed I had to blog it.

“Dirty South Dance 2″ is a sequel mixtape to the first Dirty South Dance CD that A-Trak put out in 2007. He creatively mixes popular, hip-hop a capella tracks with slammin’ techno jams, and makes it work seamlessly.

In addition to the album, A-Trak is also teaming up with apparel company Obey to create all kinds of cool merch that will be available once the physical copy of the mixtape is released. I have always been a fan of Obey’s designs, I can’t wait to see what they come up with for A-Trak.

A-Trak is a top notch DJ, and co-founder of Fool’s Gold, the indie record label that discovered and broke Kid Cudi. He is one of the most sought after DJs in the country, and puts out some of the sickest remixes I’ve ever heard. Click here to check out his official website.
