Featured Album this Week (1/24/11): “Live or die, you won’t be lonely” by Mike Borgia
This week’s album is by a dude that has been poking around Tight Mix a lot lately. Mike Borgia writes some excellent folk rock, and his latest work really grabbed my attention. Believe or not, Mike has been around the block a couple of times. This is his NINTH album release! Talk about a hustler.
“Live or die, you won’t be lonely” is an EP that boasts Fleet Foxes-type vocals, melodious violins and crisp, acoustic rhythm guitar goodness. The introductory violin melody hooked me in instantly, but my favorite track was “Sink,” the third song on the album. I’ve really gotten into Fleet Foxes hard this past month, and that last song provides a very similar vibe. Love it.
The album will be released in full on February 11, with a total of five songs and one bonus track. You can stream and download all nine albums over at his Bandcamp store.
