Featured Album this Week (12/6/10): “Spin Cycle” by MIRS

This week’s featured artist does a lot of work for films, but recently released his first solo music project over at Bandcamp. The dude’s name is Amir Motlagh, and I was really intrigued by this short 4-song EP he released last month.

The four tracks in this project are named after the seasons (spring, summer, fall, winter), and are meant to be listened in its entirety as if they were one long song. The songs are soaked in delicious reverb, and I can feel his movie scoring skills permeate throughout the album. There are very few vocals in the project, but I think the instrumentals can stand on their own, and if you’re looking to set a laid back, chiller vibe, then these tracks will only help your quest.

You can pick up the 4-song EP over at Bandcamp for a modest $3.50 (or more if you’re feeling generous), and yes, I highly recommend it.
