For Musicians: Use Dropico to Quickly Organize and Share Photos Across Social Networks
If you’re a musician or in a band that’s been using social media for a while, you are probably very familiar with how annoying it is to have to manually upload the same photos across social networks. As if the guitar playing wasn’t enough of a risk for carpel tunnel, you have to click zillions of times just to get your new photos up on Facebook, MySpace, Flickr, etc.
Thanks to the awesomeness that is Lifehacker, I came across a valuable tool called Dropico that lets you easily organize and share photos across multiple social networks with their intuitive web interface. Oh, and it’s free.
With Dropico, sharing photos to popular social networks is now a cinch for bands and musicians. The platform currently supports Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Flickr, Picasa, Photobucket, and Foursquare, and all you have to do is upload the photos to one social network, and drag and drop them to wherever else you want them to appear. Dropico also supports photo tagging (title, description and tags), so all your photos can be described consistently across your social networks. You can even create new albums and share them with your friends without ever leaving the Dropico interface.
Also, Dropico lets you upload photos straight to Facebook and Flickr, which is a great solution for touring musicians who want to upload their fun road pictures to both of these accounts, without the hassle of using two different apps. All you have to do is e-mail the photo to your special Dropico MOBI E-mail address that you are given upon signup.
In the near future, you will also be able to use Dropico to backup all of your photos in the cloud, which will probably be a paid service, but a nice way to free up some hard drive space on your computers and mobile devices.
I think Dropico is at least worth a try, and could be an excellent time saver for bands and musicians who would much rather be writing music than developing carpel tunnel syndrome.
