Have Your Ashes Pressed into a Vinyl Record After You Die. WHAT!?

ashes to vinyl

I don’t even remember how I ended up at this website, but it doesn’t even matter. When I saw this, it totally blew my mind because I had no idea this was even possible…

You can pay somebody to have your ashes pressed into a vinyl record.

With the motto “The Perfect Resting Place for Vinyl Lovers,” andvinyly.com offers a range of packages available for you to have your ashes pressed into a vinyl record, so you can finally R.I.V. (Rest in Vinyl). You can have whatever recording you want pressed into the vinyl, like a personal message, your favorite song, or just dead silence so listeners can hear your very own pops and cracks. Lovely.

The best part is that you can even pay to have your vinyl record distributed throughout “reputable” record stores! Not sure what kind of reputation a record store needs to sell records created from human ashes, but it would definitely make for some interesting publicity!

Slightly creepy, but also slightly awesome, right? Would any of you guys or girls do it?? I feel like that would be very strange item to hold in your hands…discuss!

I would do it if it could go double platinum.

Hell yeah, I’d do it. But my marketing mind is wondering how I can take advantage of it while I’m still alive. Like maybe, if I shaved my head and burned the hair and used those ashes, would that work? Or…what if I cut of my little pinky finger, burned it and pressed the ashes into a 7″ called ‘Little Left Pinky’. Do you think that would sell?

Wouldn’t the ash content wear out the stylus?

And no one has considered the possibility that they just throw away the ashes and send you a standard vinyl?
